Stud Profile
Warrawee Stud is situated at Lancefield, a picturesque village in the Australian State of Victoria, about 40 minutes travel by car north from Melbourne Airport. The stud was established some 35 years ago with two purebred brood mares, and now runs approximately 55 horses, still breeding a few purebreds each year but also more emphasis in latter years on Anglo Arabians and Arabian Warmbloods. The aim of the stud is to breed beautiful performance horses with good temperaments, conformation and movement incorporating the bloodlines of the stallions standing at Warrawee all of whom carry a large percentage of Banderol blood.
The principal stallion was a double Banderol son, Arabian Park Banner (dec) (pic left) and his blood is dominant in the breeding program. Three of his Anglo sons have remained entire and one son Warrawee Grandee (pic right), has been retained by the stud as a sire. Of the three entire sons two - Australian National Champion Anglo Stallions Warrawee Grandee and Warrawee Dundee are from the ASB mare Adronica. This mare has also produced another full sibling, a gelding Warrawee Bon Jovee who has been awarded the title Australian National Champion Anglo Arabian Gelding and top 10 Ridden Derivative gelding, and a mare Warrawee Ashantee - Australian National Champion Anglo Arabian mare 2004. Dundee is also an Australian National Champion Bridle Path Hack, and Dundee in return, has produced two Australian National Champions himself, Jack Sprat and Antz Pants. The third entire son of Banner, Warrawee S'preem has taken all before him winning all major awards at Halter, culminating in Australian National Champion Anglo Arabian Stallion 2002 and Australian National Champion Derivative Ridden stallion 2004. Progeny from these entire sons have taken off the highest honours in the show ring in Australia, Germany and New Zealand, and are excelling in the performance arena. A Grandee son Warrawee Versacee owned by Al Kareeme Stud as a stud sire (see Pictorial) is a multi A Class Champion Anglo stallion whose progeny are making their presence felt at many A and AA class shows including wins at the Australian National Arabian Championships. Versacee is the current Reserve Australian National Champion Anglo Stallion. Bandomol (Bandom (Banderol) from Oxford Gem) joined the stud some years back as an older stallion and unfortunately we only had a couple of seasons of foals by this wonderful horse who is now infertile. He sired the stallion Warrawee Bandanna who is saturated in Banderol blood and Bandanna's first foal on the ground Warrawee Preevu from Adronica was Reserve Australian National Champion Yearling Anglo filly, colt or gelding in a large class 2009. Bandanna has sired another colt from Adronica born 2009 who will be retained. The young Australian National Champion Arabian Warmblood colt Warrawee Deecor joined the stallion lineup and we have used him extensively in his second year at stud. His dam line goes back to the bloodlines we have used with success over many years. Last season the stud bred 6 foals and for the current season are expecting 11 foals (details in Stock for Sale).
